I Wake Up at Noon
And I feel fantastic. DSPS, or delayed sleep phase syndrome, is a circadian rhythm disorder that prevents from falling asleep at least two hours past the socially acceptable hours and, consequently, waking up at least two hours later than usual as well. Nearly 15 percent of adolescents and adults have DSPS. I don’t know who came up with an idea of sending children to school at 7 in the morning or starting work at 9 (not a coincidence, really), but I hate both those people.
How To Meet Interesting People
If you want to meet interesting people, be an interesting person yourself. To become an interesting person, do something interesting: learn a new skill learn a new language travel to a new place go on a meditation retreat learn to play an instrument start a club go backpacking start exercising change your diet shave your head change your wardrobe move to a different city get a tattoo get stoned donate money, clothes, blood
A Child Within
I refuse giving up my childishness. I simply don’t want to grow up. After all, have you wondered what makes us adults? Is it as simple as reaching the age of 18? And why 18 and not 35, considering people of my generation are likely to live past a 100 years mark. Talking about “why”, I love applying a rule of “five whys” in day-to-day life. The concept well known in business can spark unthinkably deep conversations.
I Stopped Drinking Coffee
It’s day 5. I still have migraines. I spent last three weeks transitioning from taking caffeine daily. The first two weeks I went from 1 cup of 11g coffee a day to 1 cup of 1g, then to 1 cup of green tea, then to no coffee nor tea. The first time I experienced caffeine withdrawal was back in 2017, when over months I would have terrible headaches every weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday.
High-Income Skills
I’m planning to switch careers. Before I dive into rationalization of this thinking, I’ll explain the title. I won’t remember where I first saw this collocation, but the message behind it was clear— true wealth amplifies exponentially by stacking up skills that correlate with the high potential of earning lots of money. For simplicity, let’s say >$100K a year. For example, from the skills I have, playing a guitar is low income, bouldering (climbing) — low income, portrait photography — low income, coding — high income, chopping bell pepper in the fastest and the least wasteful way — no income.
