stuck in suburbia: a week in windsor
I am staying with a friend in Windsor for a week. Typical Canadian suburbia: the climbing gym doesn't open on Mondays, and the second-closest one is across the river, in Detroit. Coffee shops closed at 3... 3PM, of course, not AM. I thought I could walk around in downtown. Not so fast, cowboy! While "downtown" is relatively close — only 15 minutes away by car — it's also 1.5 hours by bus, or 2.5 hours walking.
I guess I'll stay home and watch movies, while my friend is taking a nap. And when he wakes up, we'll go for a walk — or rather we'll drive to go for a walk — on a beautiful side of a country road, watching cars passing us by.
I've never felt so stuck in a country so free as Canada.
