sleep after workout
One interesting observation.
The last two weeks I stayed home sick. I didn't go out almost at all, and, consequently, I didn't exercise either. I also noticed that I would wake up rather early for my normal schedule, making between 7 and 8 hours of sleep a day.
Yesterday I finally went to the gym — oh god was I happy to be outside — for a soft 3 hour-long workout. No high intensity, just regular climbing 1–2 grades below my base level. After all, I am in recovery.
When I woke up today, morning sunlight was long gone. I rushed to check the time, 12 pm. Like, what the fuck. I slept 11 hours. Now it's more like my regular schedule, but what was the last two weeks then?
Then everything clicked. I have exercise — I need more sleep. I don't exercise — I don't need as much sleep. "Right, genius, you could have known this from all the sleep books you've read".
My advice to all superhumans thriving on 6.5 hours of sleep — move your ass, y'all.
