“‘Really, sir,’ the arcanist said, appalled. ‘It is every man’s job to improve himself. A man without the benefits of education is hardly more than an animal.’”

entrepreneurship road: seventeen month and $60K later

Seventeen months and sixty thousand dollars ago, I quit my job to pursue entrepreneurship. Today I have enough money for the next 4 months, and last week my co-founder and I split up. I am scared. But I am also excited.

Every shakeup gives me enough motivation to do something different. "Just this one time, Sergei, try something else," I tell myself. For me, it's "go hard or go home". It's always been. Try hard to make money or go home with nothing. Do whatever it takes to succeed or fail miserably.

Sixty thousand dollars won't buy you freedom. Nor will five hundred thousand. Invest this money in the stock market and wait for 30 years, hoping the market doesn't crash by the time you retire. From the yearly dividends, buy yourself an iphone, because that's the only thing you can afford.

Alternatively, run a business that makes profit and pays you for your efforts. Grow the business in the next 5–10 years and sell it for $. Cash out and travel for the rest of your life. Or do something else, who cares — now you are free to make your own decisions. Put money in the stock market, because why not, and dividends will pay your living expenses.

Blue pill or the red pill, your choice.

I made mine.
